Hillcrest-Bruce Mission offers a wide range of services to meet people's physical, educational, vocational, and spiritual needs. Their services have recently expanded to include dental care, among other things.

Community Matters: Mission Group Meets the Needs of Their Community

By Sarah Davis 8/9/24   A local ministry is helping Boyd County residents break barriers and lead better lives, with the help of volunteers and for the love of God. Mike Maynard serves as executive director of the Hillcrest-Bruce Mission in Ashland, Kentucky. The mission acts as a hub for support services to those in need, and he’s in charge of making sure everything runs smoothly.  In an interview with Walk FM’s Kyle Vanover and Sarah Davis, Maynard talked about new things happening in their ministry, as well as the impact they have had on those served.

International Christian Braille Mission

Since 1975, the International Christian Braille Mission has been providing Christian reading materials in braille and audio form for those who are blind or visually impaired. They are currently housed at Kentucky Christian University in Grayson, KY.

Community Matters: Braille Christian Materials is a Real Need

Community Matters: Ashland Church Holds Bilingual Worship Service

By Sarah Davis 7/13/24 Once Pastor Keith Katterheinrich was made aware of the lack of Hispanic worship in the Tri-state, he set out to fill the language gap. In an interview with Walk FM’s Kyle Vanover, Katterheinrich– pastor of CornerStone Methodist Church in Ashland, Kentucky– said dealing with the unfamiliar language was not something that came naturally to him when starting a Hispanic service at his church.
