  Brothers' Keeper, affectionately known as "BK" for short was established in the year 2000. Based at Parchment Valley Conference Center reaches out every year to the community for mission projects. Most are construction projects for low income families or families with a handicapped member. Youth groups from around West Virginia and surrounding states have come in to do mission work in Jackson County, West Virginia. Every year Brothers' Keeper serves over families all over Jackson County, all while developing a mind for mission work in over 100 youth missionaries and our adult counselors and crew chiefs. Hope’s Place actively seeks to reduce the occurrence of sexual abuse and heighten awareness through prevention education. Facts: Statistics show that 1 in 10 children will be sexually abused by the time they are 18. In other words; 400,000 babies born this year in the United States will be sexually abused before they turn 18. Children are the victims in 66% of all sexual offenses reported to law enforcement. It is estimated that this crime is severely underreported and that the actual numbers are much higher. Sexual abuse is a genderless crime void of socioeconomic limitations. Backpack Buddies Changing the lives of children one weekend at a time.   Backpack Buddies is an organization dedicated to reducing the effects of childhood hunger by providing nutritious, easy-to-prepare food over the weekend to children residing in food-insecure homes in Lawrence County, Ohio. Backpack Buddies serves children and families in Lawrence County, Ohio through our Backpack Program and Emergency Food program. Lauryn's Legacy is a Non-profit that Supports Birth Parents who have placed children for adoption. Lauryn's Legacy intends to provide lifelong counseling to anyone that chooses to place a child for adoption and provide resources to make a better life for themselves with higher education, counseling, interview training, life skills training, and financial support when necessary. This includes help with transportation, holiday assistance, clothing for the parents and the children, and bill pay.   How do we support those that have given so much? We have support group meetings for any mom that has placed a child for adoption. Poppy's Coffee, Tea, and Remedies Poppy’s is a Christian coffee shop in Gallipolis, Ohio. Owner, Greg Hall wanted to create an atmosphere where people can come and enjoy great coffee and where he can tell people about his love for Jesus.  In March, Poppy's responded to the need and started a food pantry. Facing Hunger Foodbank Mission: help feed hungry people by distributing nutritious food and grocery products through our pantry/agency network. Facing Hunger envisions a future where no person in the service area goes hungry.  The Facing Hunger Foodbank provides nutritious canned, boxed, fresh, frozen, and prepared food to nearly 116,000 individuals yearly.   The Not Alone Project Dalton Hale is a 16 year old student at Boyd County High School and the founder of the Not Alone Project. The Not Alone Project launched on September 1st to coincide with the start of Suicide Prevention Month, and will continue to provide regular content in partnership with The Big Idea Camp throughout the upcoming school year. This content will include testimonials, as well as tips for spotting the signs of anxiety and depression and information about how to seek additional help. The Curriculum of Tri-State Bible College is designed to promote a biblical worldview and to help students become theologically skillful.
