Facing Hunger Foodbank

Mission: help feed hungry people by distributing nutritious food and grocery products through our pantry/agency network. Facing Hunger envisions a future where no person in the service area goes hungry.

The Facing Hunger Foodbank provides nutritious canned, boxed, fresh, frozen, and prepared food to nearly 116,000 individuals yearly. They also work diligently to recover foods from restaurants and other food distributors through their “food and fund” drive so that no food is wasted.

Their service areas in West Virginia include Cabell, Boone Jackson, Kanawha, Lincoln, Logan, McDowell, Mason, Mingo, Putnam, Wayne, and Wyoming Counties. In Kentucky, Boyd, Greenup, Lawrence, and Martin Counties. In Ohio, they service Lawrence County.

Their Programs include:

Mobile Pantry Program

Summer Food Service Program (SFSP)

Warehouse Distribution Program

Food Rescue Program

Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP)

BackPack Program

Special Supplemental Food Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC)
